The City of Westerville is reminding residents that the Odd-Even Lawn Watering System is in effect year-round and observed during times of excessive heat and limited rainfall. This Ordinance was enacted to help residents conserve water during dry summer months while still allowing adequate water for lawns.

Westerville’s Odd/Even Lawn Watering System:
  • If your house or business number ends in an even number, you are permitted to water your grass on even-numbered days of the month.

  • If your house or business number ends in an odd number, you are permitted to water your grass on odd-numbered days of the month.

  • Shrubs and trees may be watered any day of the month.

In addition to the lawn watering restrictions, residents are asked to consider other ways to conserve water while drought-like conditions are present in Central Ohio. Limiting or postponing car washing, running the dishwasher less often and combining loads of laundry are common ways to reduce water use.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Westerville Water Division at (614) 901-6770.
