The City of Westerville will be hosting the SPRING Hazardous Waste Collections scheduled in 2018 at the City's Public Service Complex. Questions regarding this event should be directed to the Department of Public Service, 901-6740 or publicservice@westerville.org.

NEW!!  SHREDDING:  The City will be offering residents the opportunity to shred their old documents during the spring household hazardous waste event.  Fireproof Record Center will be on site to provide this service and will accept up to five (5) boxes per household.  

The collection will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Public Service Department, 350 Park Meadow Rd., from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.  

The following items are acceptable for collection:

Flammables
  • Lighter Fluid
  • Thinner/Turpentine
  • Gasoline
  • Kerosene
  • Gasoline/Oil Mix 
Toxics
  • CFL Bulbs
  • Rat Poison/Insecticides
  • Extinguishers
  • Mercury/Ni-Cad Batteries 
 Reactives
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Strong Chemicals
 Electronics
  • Computer Hardware
  • TV /Phones/Cameras
  • Copiers/Fax Machines
  • VCRs/Radios/Wires
 Fats/Oils/Grease
  • In sealed containers
 Additional Item
  • Tires (limit four per household)
 Corrosives
  • Drain Cleaners
  • Bleach/Household
  • Paint Strippers
  • Antifreeze
 WE DO NOT ACCEPT
  • Needles/Medical Waste
  • Asbestos/Propane Tanks (over 20 lbs)

  • Trash

 

 Latex/water-based paints will be accepted.  Disposal Fee: $1.00 per can
