Fall Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The City of Westerville, in partnership with the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO), offers an annual collection program for residents to properly dispose of hazardous household waste.Questions regarding this event should be directed to the Department of Public Service, 901-6740 or publicservice@westerville.org.

Collection will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the Public Service Department, 350 Park Meadow Rd., 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. CLICK HERE to view a traffic map of the drop-off site.

The following items are acceptable for collection:

Flammables
  • Lighter Fluid
  • Thinner/Turpentine
  • Gasoline
  • Kerosene
  • Gasoline/Oil Mix 
Toxics
  • CFL Bulbs
  • Rat Poison/Insecticides
  • Extinguishers
  • Mercury/Ni-Cad Batteries 
 Reactives
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Strong Chemicals
 Electronics
  • Computer Hardware
  • TV /Phones/Cameras
  • Copiers/Fax Machines
  • VCRs/Radios/Wires
 Fats/Oils/Grease
  • In sealed containers
 Additional Item
  • Tires w/o Rims (limit four per household)
 Corrosives
  • Drain Cleaners
  • Bleach/Household
  • Paint Strippers
  • Antifreeze
 WE DO NOT ACCEPT
  • Needles/Medical Waste
  • Asbestos/Propane Tanks (over 20 lbs)

 Latex/water-based paints will be accepted.  Disposal Fee: $1.00 per can
