Annually, the Fire Division offers a Citizen's Fire Academy to all Westerville and Blendon Township residents. This academy is a free, 10-week program that takes participants through basic training scenarios in firefighting and EMS.

All courses are conducted by experienced firefighting professionals at Fire Station 111, located at 400 W. Main St., Westerville, OH 43081. This program will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. (Session durations may vary slightly based on the topic.) Additionally, there will be one session on Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm

Graduates are also invited to join the Citizen's Auxiliary Resource Team, a group of volunteers that assists the Fire Division with numerous community events during the year.
