Recycle Your Refrigerator or Freezer for a $50 Incentive!
WED is encouraging residents to trade in old, inefficient refrigerator or freezer units in exchange for a
$50 pre-paid VISA debit card or digital debit card download.
THE FINE PRINT: Appliances must be in working condition and between 10-30 cubic feet in size, utilizing inside measurements. Program is available to Westerville Electric Residential Customers and is limited to two appliance rebates per household. Customers must own the appliance(s) being recycled. Customer (age 18 and up) must be home during pick-up of appliance and appliance must be easily accessible with a clear and safe path for removal teams. Removal teams will not risk injury, move personal effects or modify a home during removal (including removing doors or railings). Appliance must be plugged in, working and still cooling at time of pick up; appliance must also be empty, defrosted and disconnected from water lines upon pick-up. All collected appliances are dismantled, recycled and disposed in an environmentally responsible manner to minimize landfill waste. Incentive delivery is based on incentive option (approximately 3-4 weeks for prepaid card and 10 days for digital download). Check your email for incentive tracking information and to verify your pick-up date. Customers may also request a check payment by calling 1 (866) 899-9862 (however, this option is not recommended). The Westerville Electric Division contracts with Recleim to provide this convenient and environmentally-friendly service to customers.
