May is Older Americans Month
Join Westerville in the celebration of Older Americans month. Established in 1963, Older Americans month is an annual celebration of the contributions and achievements of older Americans across the country and reaffirms our commitment to honoring our older citizens.
Westerville is committed to being a community where residents of all ages can live, work and play. The City is proudly designated by AARP as an “Age-Friendly Community,” which recognizes the strategic planning undertaken to ensure residents have access to resources they need to thrive in Westerville. This plan was created collectively with community partners and older adults in the community who participated in surveys, focus groups and other feedback opportunities. Read the City’s Age-Friendly Plan and learn more about the initiative.
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has proclaimed 2026's theme as "Champion Your Health." The campaign encourages older adults to take an active role in managing and advocating for their health and take a proactive approach to wellness through preventative measures. Visit the ACL website to learn more.
Located at the Westerville Community Center, the City’s Senior Center offers opportunities for older adults to connect, learn and play! Visit the Senior Center web page to learn more and schedule a visit.

Leadership Westerville, a 501c3 which mobilizes members of the residential and business community for service, maintains a robust online resource center for older adults.
