Strategic Plan

The City of Westerville has a long and valued history of thoughtful planning, with community leaders repeatedly looking to the horizon to identify opportunities, develop programs and initiatives, formalize plans and centralize key directives for the coming years.

Westerville City Council and administration present the 2012-2014 strategic plan. Set forward in late 2011, this document helps establish an updated and re-visioned strategic plan, representing the City’s road map to the future. Mission Statement
The City of Westerville is dedicated to providing exemplary municipal services to our community and fostering prosperity while embracing our unique heritage and character. 
The mission statement defines the City's daily commitment to delivering exemplary public services and caring for the physical assets of the community, including an unwavering commitment to excellence in conducting the business of the City and preparing for the future, while simultaneously embracing Westerville's rich and distinct history.

Westerville will be a safe, friendly, vibrant, attractive and diverse community, where people and families live, learn, work and play, and where a small-town feel and quality of life is valued.

Westerville will have a community-oriented government that is committed to innovation, affordability and the health, safety and welfare of its residents, business community, visitors and employees. 
The City's vision describes what we desire as our future state or our preferred condition of being. It is important to note that no matter how much the City grows and evolves over time, the City understands and embraces how deeply our residents appreciate the small-town quality of accessible, reliable City services and programs.
