The 2026 State of the City was held Monday, March 2 at the Renaissance Columbus Westerville-Polaris Hotel. The event kicked off with an inspiring video showcasing residents' dreams for Westerville followed by City Manager Monica Dupee outline of a dream that includes maintaining the City's authentic charm while thoughtfully creating new job opportunities and amenities for residents, visitors and members of the business community.

During the event, the City honored former Westerville Council Chair Michael Heyeck as the 2026 Champion, which was presented by current Council Chair Megan Czako. Assistant City Manager Jason Bechtold presented the Volunteer and Organization of the Year awards to William "Bill" Heaphy III and the Westerville Youth Baseball and Softball League (WYBSL), respectively. Heaphy was honored for his 7,200 volunteer hours in service of the Westerville History Museum, and the WYBSL was honored for the organization's positive impact on the lives of thousands of community members and fostering community spirit.
