To recognize the 150th Anniversary of Benjamin Hanby's "Up on the Housetop" and urge all residents to honor the memorable life of Westerville's favorite son, a playwright, poet, teacher, pastor and nationally-renowned composer and to celebrate the 150th anniversary of his merry and lasting Christmas song.

Recognizing Brice as the 2014 Ohio Bass Federation Junior State Champion in the 11-14 Age Group held during the Ohio Bass Federation Junior State Championship on August 3, 2014. He will represent Ohio at the 2015 FLW/TBF World Championship Youth Tournament in Little Rock, Arkansas in August 2015

It is with great honor and respect that the Mayor recognizes and commends Westerville South High School student Robert Dowdy for being selected by the United States Marine Corps to participate in the Semper Fidelis-All American Bowl on January 4, 2015 in Carson, California.

It is with great honor and respect that the Mayor recognizes VFW Post 7883 Commander Tony Eller for achieving the All-American status as a Post Commander. This title is the most prestigious honor given by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

 To proclaim the month of October 2014 as "National Breast Cancer Awareness Month" in Westerville and urge all women and their families in Westerville to get the facts about mammography.

 Fire Prevention Week
To proclaim October 5-11, 2014 as "Fire Prevention Week" throughout this community, and to urge all the people of Westerville to test their smoke alarms at least every month by pushing the test button, and to support the many public safety activities and efforts of Westerville's fire and emergency services.

Be it further resolved that the week of October 5-11, 2014 be designated the "28th annual Public Power Week" in order to honor the City of Westerville Electric Division for its contributions to the community and to make its consumer-owners, policy makers, and employees more aware of its contributions to their well-being and how it makes their lives powerful.

To proclaim Wednesday, July 2, 2014 as "Westerville Area Civitan Club and Boy Scout Troop #700 Day" in Westerville and encourage citizens to give proper recognition to these service organizations and wish them continued success for many years to come.

To recognize the 40th Anniversary of the Central Ohio Transit Authority and call upon all citizens to support public transportation and celebrate 40 years of COTA, and to become more active in education and advocacy efforts to promote the vital role that public transportation plays in Westerville and across the United States

To proclaim July 2014 as "Parks and Recreation Month" and encourage all citizens of Westerville to celebrate with citizens of other communities throughout the nation by recognizing that parks and recreation services are essential to the quality of life, not only in July, but all through the year.

To proclaim June 1 through June 7, 2014 as "National Garden Week" in Westerville and urge all residents to acknowledge the importance of gardening and the numerous contributions of gardeners.

To proclaim May 18-24, 2014 as "National Emergency Medical Services Week" in Westerville with the theme, "EMS: Dedicated. For Life." and encourage the community to observe this week with appropriate programs, ceremonies and activities.

To proclaim the WesterFlora 2014 Season as open and encourage all residents to support the spirit of WesterFlora and the WesterFlora Civic Beautification Committee's efforts to beautify Westerville.

To proclaim May 24 - 26, 2014 as "Honoring Our Heroes Weekend" in Westerville and recognize this weekend as an opportunity for us all to come together as a community to remember, to honor, and to heal.

To proclaim May 2014 as "National Mental Health Month" in Westerville and urge all residents to support Concord Counseling Services and the service they provide to all citizens in Westerville.

To proclaim May 11-17, 2014 as "National Police Week" in Westerville and further call upon citizens to observe May 15, 2014 as Peace Officers' Memorial Day in honor of those law enforcement officers who, through their courageous deeds, have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community or have become disabled in the performance of duty, and let us recognize and pay respect to the survivors of our fallen heroes.

To Proclaim Friday, April 25, 2014 as "Arbor Day" in commemoration of the 142nd anniversary of Arbor Day and urge all citizens of the City of Westerville to support the Westerville Shade Tree Commission's efforts to beautify our community and commend their efforts to promote the planting of trees in accordance with the City Tree Master Plan.

To proclaim the month of February 2014 as "American Heart Month" in Westerville and urge all residents to take advantage of regular screenings and consult their doctors about how to reduce their personal risk for heart disease and  to take advantage of CPR training given by the American Heart Association.
