Closure Details:

South Hempstead Road will be closed to all traffic between Schrock and Spring Roads beginning Monday, July 13. The road is scheduled to reopen at the end of August 2026, weather permitting.

• When: July 13 through the end of August 
• Location: S. Hempstead Road will be closed between E. Schrock Road and 825 S. Hempstead Road.
• Access: Residents living off S. Hempstead Road between E. Schrock Road and S. Spring Road, as well as visitors to Inniswood Metro Gardens, must enter from the south.
• Southbound Detour: West on E. Schrock Road, then south on S. Spring Road and back to S. Hempstead Road.
• Northbound Detour: North on S. Spring Road, east on E. Schrock Road and back to S. Hempstead Road.

Closure expansion: On July 25, the closure described above will expand to include S. Hempstead Road between Autumn Lake Court and 7203 S. Hempstead Road.

• Location: S. Hempstead Road between Autumn Lake Court and 7203 S. Hempstead Road
• Southbound Detour: West on Walnut Street, then south on S. Spring Street to S. Hempstead Road.
• Northbound Detour: North on S. Spring Street to Walnut Street, then east to S. Hempstead Road.
