City Assists Grove City After Fire Loss
The City of Westerville joined other cities, jurisdictions and the Ohio Department of Transportation to provide assistance to Grove City after a fire on Saturday destroyed several vehicles in the fleet.
On Wednesday, January 10, the Westerville Service Department sent one dump truck with snow plow and a salt spreader loaded with seven tons of salt to Grove City. The fire inside their public service storage facility not only destroyed equipment, but would have left the streets untreated without the mutual aid services of several agencies. Westerville participates in the mutual aid collaborative allowing for resource sharing during times of need.
With snow in the forecast, Westerville residents and commuters should expect the same level of service for road treatment and clearing. The Service Department Road Warrior crews have adequate supplies, both in equipment and road salt.
Grove City Mayor Richard L. “Ike” Stage expressed his thanks. “On behalf of Grove City, we’re extremely appreciative of Westerville’s generous offer and assistance.”
