Post Date:06/07/2017 2:42 PM
At last night's Westerville City Council meeting, City Manager David Collinsworth announced that Don Barlow, who retired on June 1 after 28 years as the Executive Director of the Westerville Public Library, has been named a Westerville Champion.

Barlow was recognized as an innovator in his field and an enthusiastic contributor to the Westerville community. Under his leadership, WPL received regional and national recognition as a five-star library. The library was the first to offer website and self-check out services and was among the first to offer drive-up services.

The Westerville Champion program provides recognition of outstanding citizens whose service and activities significantly enhanced the quality of life in Westerville.
Within the next month, a plaque will be placed on the trail between Hanby Park (115 E Park St.) and the Westerville Library in recognition of his outstanding career and impact on the community.
