The Westerville Parks Foundation was formed in 2000 as a charitable organization to protect the best of Westerville - it’s historical, recreational, educational and cultural resources - and their goal is to ensure that the magnificent parks in Westerville will be a legacy for future generations to experience.

Westerville Parks Foundation
The Mission
“To create funding and raise community awareness in support of the goals and objectives of the Westerville Parks and Recreation Department, its programs and resources.” |
The foundation engages in fundraising efforts such as the Adopt-A-Foot program, the sale of dog bone plaques for the dog park, and the sale of other collectible items. Donations are accepted for general purposes and for specific, restricted purposes, such as the Bark Park project, Otterbein Lake community project and the President’s Grove of Trees.
The Westerville Parks Foundation has also established a scholarship procedure to assist needy individuals in accessing Westerville Parks and Recreation facilities, services and programs.
Parks and Recreation Services are essential for the City’s quality of life. They benefit lives each day by encouraging businesses and new residents to settle in Westerville; they provide lifetime family memories; they improve health and preserve natural areas. Like other resources, these services are funded by the City. However, the parks have other needs that extend beyond maintenance of existing parks. The Westerville Parks Foundation was founded to assist the Parks and Recreation Department of Westerville in funding these needs. This non-profit organization, through a group of hard-working citizens who volunteer their time and talents, helps residents and businesses acquire, protect and nurture the parkland that the community deserves.
Without this help, the Westerville Parks Foundation would not be able to accomplish its purpose.
