The Westerville Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of sports leagues and instructional classes throughout the year for all ages and ability levels from recreational to competitive. Check out the listings in the Community Recreation Guide for sports programs offered this season. Participation in sports can reduce risk of stress related diseases, increase self-esteem and create a balance between work or school and play. Come out and play with Westerville Parks and Recreation and enjoy the many benefits of participation in sports.
Youth Sports
Recreational programs provide an avenue for positive growth and development. They not only enhance skill development, but encourage growth as a whole person. Some of the programs offered through our recreation department include various sports, leadership workshops, self defense, drama, drawing and cooking classes.
Adult Sports
Participation in recreational activities is vital for adults as it allows for escape from the everyday pressures of school and work. The Department offers a wide variety of teen/adult sports leagues and instructional classes for all ages and abilities from recreational to competitive golf, tennis, basketball and softball. Teens and adults can also select from an array of passive or active recreation opportunities offered year-around such as rock climbing, dance, painting, interior design, cooking, photography, and business workshops.
