If your violation does not require a personal court appearance, and you do not wish to contest it in court, you are required to pay the waiver/fine by the court date listed in the box at the bottom of your citation. Payment can be made with cash, money order or checks drawn on a local bank. Visa and Mastercard are accepted either in person or by following the online payment prompts.

Online Payments

The link at the bottom of this page leads to the Mayor's Court public access. By typing the complete name on the inquiry screen you can look up the case. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "pay online". You may pay with a Visa or Mastercard and a receipt can be printed upon completion of the transaction. Please retain your receipt as proof of payment.

NOTE: IF YOU DID NOT SHOW PROOF OF INSURANCE TO THE OFFICER AT THE TIME OF THE TRAFFIC STOP YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SHOW PROOF TO THE COURT OR TO THE OHIO BUREAU OF MOTOR VEHICLES.

Mail

  1. Sign the reverse side of the citation.
  2. Make your check or money order payable to The City of Westerville-Violations Bureau for the total amount due (do not mail cash).
  3. Include the citation, your payment and a copy of your proof of insurance (if it was not shown to the police officer).
  4. Mail to:

    21 South State Street,
    Westerville, OH 43081.

In Person

Payments are accepted at the Clerk of Court’s office located in the City Municipal Building, 21 S. State Street, Westerville during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Night Drop Box

Payments may be placed in the city’s brown night drop box located in the rear parking lot behind the City Municipal Building, 21 South State Street, Westerville. The brown city box is located on an island near the U.S. Post Office mailboxes. The box is opened each weekday morning.
