Westerville Councilman Terry Winebrenner
Announces Intention to Resign
(Westerville, Ohio) Westerville Councilman Terry Winebrenner announced his intentions to resign, effective sometime before City Council’s summer recess, due to a job promotion to become a Regional Office Manager for Gannett Fleming. The promotion will initially require extensive travel that will impede his ability to attend Council meetings. Winebrenner will eventually have to relocate to North Carolina.
“I have bittersweet emotions about this because my family loves Westerville, and we will miss this community very much,” said Winebrenner. “This was a very tough decision. But from a career standpoint, this is a fantastic opportunity for me.”
“I appreciate Terry’s years of service while serving two terms on Council, as well as various boards and commissions. Westerville will miss him,” said Council Chairwoman Diane Fosselman. “But I’m also happy for him and his family and wish them the best of luck as they begin this new journey in their lives.”
Prospective applicants:
- Must be a resident of Westerville for at least the past two years prior to appointment to fill Winebrenner’s vacated seat;
- Shall be qualified electors of the municipality (a registered voter in Westerville);
- Shall continue to be a qualified elector throughout the term of service; and
- Shall not hold any other public office, except as otherwise provided in the city charter.
Applications for the open City Council seat are available online at www.westerville.org. Westerville residents who desire to serve Councilman Winebrenner’s unexpired term must complete and submit an application to the Clerk of Council’s office (c/o Mary Johnston; 21 S.
